The accident occurred early on a Tuesday morning when a 1995 Honda Accord veered off the road and collided with a culvert. Hottle was a passenger in the ill-fated vehicle and was rushed to a nearby trauma center. Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at the facility. The 19-year-old driver of the car sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, while another passenger in the vehicle declined medical attention.
